7 August 2025

Jakarta (July 30, 2025) – The British Embassy Jakarta through UK–Indonesia Tech Hub, in collaboration with Instellar Impact and the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi), held a Green Tech Innovation Showcase on July 30 2025 in Jakarta. This event was the culmination of the Hatch x PEDE Incubation Programme Batch 2 and PEDE Innovation Lab to showcase 15 early-stage green tech startups in Indonesia.

The startups that showcases their breakthrough ideas consist of 12 green technology startups from the Hatch x PEDE incubation program and 3 ideation stage technology startups that are the best participants of the PEDE Innovation Lab program, a trial program for aspiring entrepreneurs to turn ideas into real solutions and viable business concepts to solve social and environmental problems. All selected startups come from various sectors such as agriculture, clean water and sanitation, new and renewable energy, waste management, climate technology and carbon capture technology, and eco-materials.

The event was attended by over 50 professionals, government representatives, investors, and ecosystem enablers interested in and focused on green technology development. The event featured three main sessions: a panel discussion, a pitching session for 15 startups, and networking opportunities through business matchmaking.

Unlike previous years, the second cohort of this program aims to strengthen market access through partnership facilities and startup development capacity through intensive mentoring with mentors from Instellar Impact and industry experts. During the incubation process, startups are equipped with sustainable growth strategies that prioritize impact, sustainability, and readiness to collaborate with both the public and private sectors.

Romy Cahyadi, Chief Executive Officer of Instellar Impact, said:

We believe that green startups are not just the businesses of the future, but also today’s answer to environmental and social challenges. During our incubation process, which we have tailored to their needs, we have seen positive growth from the founders. This is proof that with the right support, business profitability and impact can go hand in hand.

Muhammad Faisal, Head of Partnerships & Investment Ecosystems, Directorate General of Digital Ecosystem Development, Ministry of Communication and Digital of the Republic of Indonesia, added:

The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, is committed to encouraging the growth of technology-based startups that are not only innovative but also sustainable. The program “Hatch x PEDE is our concrete step to ensure that local startups have the capacity, network, and exposure needed to thrive, both nationally and globally

Nova Aryanto, CEO of Olat Maras, a participant in the Hatch x PEDE Incubation Program Batch 2, said:

We were able to collaborate with many other stakeholders and broaden our perspectives on building startups. Moreover, we come from the coastal areas of Eastern Indonesia, and this makes us proud to be part of the program. We are delighted to connect with so many stakeholders and share what we are doing to solve environmental problems in the coastal areas of Eastern Indonesia.

The Green Tech Innovation Showcase is not just the culmination of a program, but also a tangible demonstration of the power of cross-sector collaboration in driving innovation and green solutions. By connecting startups with industry leaders, investors, and strategic partners, this event paves the way for real solutions to grow and thrive.
