It is Instellar’s vision and mission to help businesses become more impactful, sustainable and scalable. This is what triggers us to continue to innovate and learn so that we can help impactpreneurs make a wider impact on the Indonesian ecosystem.
On 11-21 June 2023, Instellar was invited by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and GIZ (The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbei) to take part in a workshop on improving the digital transformation landscape in Germany. With this training, we hope to be able to create collaborations, improvise our way of making programs, and get new ideas that can build a digital transformation ecosystem in Indonesia.
Asia Berlin Summit 2023
By sending Khalya Siregar as the “Head of Business Development and Partnership” as the representative of the delegation, Instellar flew to various cities in Germany such as Munich, Berlin and Frankfurt. On the first day of the workshop, we attended the AsiaBerlin Summit 2023 which was held at the Rotes Rathaus. Topics covered in the current training are about Green Tech and Innovation Ecosystem, with a discussion panel “Shaping the Twin Transition in Southeast Asia”.
Meanwhile, on the second day of the AsiaBerlin Summit 2023, a workshop was held with the topic “Data Integration and Literacy”. This workshop presented speakers such as Nils Hoffmann, founder of the first GovLab, Aurel Stenzel founder of the SINE Foundation and Nadine Manger, data unit of the Federal Foreign Ministry. Even though we have only been in the country for two days, we can see that Germany has a fairly mature digital ecosystem. The private sector is also very supportive and participates in supporting the digital ecosystem.
Hubraum & Makerspace Berlin
The next day the workshop was continued with a visit to Hubraum, a technology incubator owned by Deutsche Telekom, which at that time presented the topic of discussion regarding ecosystem innovation. The workshop was held in great fun because we were able to see the space developed by Deutsche Telekom for innovators in the technology sector.
With very complete facilities, Hubraum is committed to accelerating digital innovation that can be absorbed by Deutsche Telekom’s digital ecosystem.
After visiting Hubraum, we continued the workshop with a visit to UnternehmerTUM, a makerspace built by the Technical University of Munich (TUM). With the latest technologies such as 3D printing, this makerspace feels like heaven for tech creators! In this shared space, technology creators can realize their innovations with the advanced machines, tools, and software provided. It’s like a co-working space, but on steroids!
The following day, the workshop continued in Munich. We attended a workshop entitled “Impact Hub Munich”, where the workshop raised the theme of how to build ecosystems and accelerators. This workshop feels special because Instellar has a fairly close relationship with Impact Hub Jakarta. Visiting and getting to know the Impact Hub network in other cities is a memorable experience!
The Impact on Instellar
From this visit, there are many things that we observe that companies can apply to create a wider impact. Starting from environmentally friendly technology, innovation regarding ecosystems, to makerspace and prototyping. We also see that Germany opens up opportunities for other countries, especially Asia, to collaborate with them.
We thank GIZ for the support from the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas for inviting us to take part in this workshop. What a rewarding experience! Going forward, we hope to create collaborations with impactpreneurs from Germany and open up greater opportunities for business people in Indonesia.
