Jelajah Garut aimed to promote sustainable tourism in Garut, West Java, Indonesia. We offer wide range of tourism services in Garut, with a speciality in outdoor tourism activity. Founded in 2014, we are now a reputable tourism service provider in Garut. We arranged countless tours, as well as making various social and environmental programmes.

IMPACT

Banjarwangi, a village south from the city of Garut, is facing a threat of agriculture industrialization, neglecting the environment they have had for decades; such as the Cikaengan River. A group of Banjarwangi youth, along with Jelajah Garut, had started a new river sport tourism attraction, River Tubing and River Boarding. We started small by our joint venture, and steadily showed the people that this Cikaengan River is their source of life that has to be respected.

CUSTOMER & MARKET SIZE

The number of tourists of Garut ranged from 2 to 3 million in a year,
90% of them are local tourist, especially from the nearest big cities, such Jakarta and Bandung. Based on the data from Disbudpar, only 3% of the tourists need tour organizer services. So our market size is about 60 to 90 thousand tourists. This number is growing annually. Our target is in the range age of 20 to 40 years old, that is triggered by a challenging tourism attraction. Even though Jelajah Garut is one of the market leader in Garut, we currently cover only about 500 tourists a year or only 1% of the market share. Majority of the tourists don’t use local tour organizer.
