JALA is a startup Internet of Things (IoT) devices that aim to help shrimp farmers in Indonesia improve their productivity in shrimp farming. The founders of JALA, Syauqy Nurul Aziz, Aryo Wiryawan, Raynalfie Raharjo, and Liris Maduningtyas are friends since they were studying in university. They often worked together as a team in many competitions back then. Until now, they still share the same passion which is being involved in projects to create solutions to help many people.
The team created a multi-sensor water measurement device which equipped with several sensors suitable for shrimp farming such as dissolved oxygen, temperature, pH, salinity, and TDS (total dissolved solids) incorporated in a single device. This device is then paired with the online platform to assist shrimp farmers to maintain a good quality of water in the shrimp pond.
JALA can solve the common problem in shrimp farming by providing information and recommendations to help shrimp farmers to take the right action based on the water quality conditions of shrimp ponds that have been measured to harvest healthier and bountiful yield of shrimp.
JALA was awarded as one of the TOP 100 Echelon Asia Summit 2018 which was held in Singapore. Their journey can be an inspiration for many social enterprises in Indonesia to keep believing in their purpose and keep working to achieve their goals.
