On November 22, we worked with Investing in Women to support Business Coalitions (BCs) from Indonesia, the Philippines, and Myanmar create a business model that balances social impact and financial return. Together with Investing in Women, we support the BCs to embed a sustainability strategy and transition to a social enterprise model.
Our session, “Thinking like a socio-entrepreneurial enterprise”, aims to provide learning journey for the BCs about becoming the socio-entrepreneurs and discuss the challenges in each country to achieve it. BCs members from the three countries all agreed that at one point they cannot rely solely on grants, hence exploring potential revenue streams is critical to the continuation of their CSOs.
We believe it’s imperative for CSOs to diversify their funding sources and be self-sustaining. By having business activities with a social enterprise approach that generate revenue, CSOs can continue funding the mission of their organizations without relying on one source of funding.
Did you know that social enterprise has three typology? Embedded, integrated, and external social enterprise– all cater to the different needs of each CSO. Would you like to find out which one is most suitable for your organization? We can help! Contact us at hello@instellar.id
