On Friday, May 17, 2024, the Digital Hub Collaboration Roadshow was held in Surabaya, in collaboration with the UK-Indonesia Tech Hub, 1000 Digital Startup National Movement, and Markas by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo), to engage and inform local digital talents and startups in Surabaya in the green/climate/agricultural technology sectors about their transformative potential. The roadshow introduced the Digital Hub programme, with sub-programmes of Hatch x PEDE incubation and Digital Talents Development presented by UK-Indonesia Tech Hub x 1000 Digital Startup National Movement in collaboration with Markas and Instellar.
The event featured a talk show entitled “Sustainable Solutions: Nurturing Growth in Climate and Agri-tech Startups” moderated by Rizky Anugrah, Head of Enterprise Development of Instellar, with speakers from various backgrounds, which are Syukriyatun Niamah, COO of Robbies; Adijoyo Prakoso, COO of Duitin; and Anjarwati, Junior Expert Environmental Impact Controller of the East Java Provincial Environmental Agency. The talk show discussed the need for innovative solutions in handling environmental issues, the application of sustainable solutions through technology, the journey of scaling up startup companies, and explained the role and benefits of the Hatch x PEDE incubation programme that supports digital businesses that focus on the green/climate/agriculture sector.
Anjarwati, Adijoyo Prakoso, and Syukriyatun Niamah highlighted the different ways to deal with environmental issues, such as plastic waste and abundant residual plastic. Anjarwati emphasized the importance of creating innovative solutions to the problem. Adijoyo Prakoso suggested a hands-on approach to solving the core of environmental problems. Meanwhile, Syukriyatun Niamah encouraged in-depth research and product testing to ensure sustainable and quality solutions.
Considering the urgency and attention that is being directed towards solving environmental problems, the startup ecosystem is still not fully mature. Many startups face difficulties in getting past the early stages of development and face challenges related to sustainability and scalability. Through the Hatch x PEDE incubation programme, selected digital innovators will receive three months of intensive training and guidance from mentors and industry experts. The programme aims to develop innovative products or services, especially in the green, climate, and agriculture sectors. Startups that successfully qualify will attend a series of workshops on business strategy, product development, market access, and mentoring sessions with experts in the field. This approach will provide them with the knowledge, network, and credibility needed to secure investment.
If you have an idea or startup in the green/climate/agriculture tech sector, don’t miss the opportunity to grow in the Hatch x PEDE incubation programme, supported by UK-Indonesia Tech Hub, Gerakan 1000 Startup Digital, Markas, and Instellar. Get intensive training, mentorship from experts, and access to a vast network! Let’s create innovative solutions to environmental challenges and realize a more sustainable future.
Applications for the Hatch x PEDE incubation programme are open until 30 May 2024. More information about this programme can be accessed at instellar.id/pede.
